Discover the Connection of Tea and Personality

I consider myself a Tea Enthusiast. However, I use to LOVE coffee (really the caffeine). I would drink it almost all day–morning, noon, and night, especially as Starbucks was popping up on the scene; I remember, I was living in the Twin Cities 1990s, 20th century. However, in the millennium, about 2015, I began to dislike the effects of coffee and caffeine; it just did not agree with my health and well-being. I am not saying that coffee has no value. Interestingly, while living in Minneapolis, I used it as a part of my weight loss, in the 1990s. I believe lifestyle, mind, spirit, and body change, self-concept and self-awareness had a lot to do with my letting-go of coffee drinking and embracing tea drinking. With that being said, I wanted to see if there was any real information that talks about or describes people who drink tea.

My favorite teas of all are green tea and green matcha tea! Each morning, I have a strong cup of plain green tea. Before work, I stop at Starbucks and get a Green Matcha Frappuccino (with soy milk and no whip cream, and extra ice) As I head home, after a long day of work, I already have the thought of drinking tea in mind. Plain green tea or green matcha are always my first choice when I get home; and, the first thing I do is put on the tea kettle! Interestingly, Matcha green tea is complex. While it contains caffeine, it has an amino acid, Theanine, which counterbalances the caffeine, producing a calming and relaxing effect! I LOVE that! Also, did you know that Mc Cormick has/had a gourmet line of organic Matcha Green Tea with Ginger seasoning?! (OMG, I discovered it a few years ago; I still have a quarter container full left; but, can’t find it anywhere online, not even on the McCormick website, which is likely an indicator that it’s not available any longer). So, not only am I a Tea Enthusiast, but, I am a Green Tea Enthusiast!

I wanted to find out if tea drinking reveals any traits about the person. It does! There is a lot of information out there that makes a correlation of tea and personality. While green tea is my top choice. I have several others. Check the slideshow below for the reveal!

For the most part, the correlations are true for me. Some more, some less. The green tea is right-on target. Other categories might have to do with the season. For example, in fall and winter, I love sipping spiced teas, with a few heavy splashes of a rich creamer. Also, the categories of the types of teas in my post is not exhaustive. These are categories relevant to me.

I just bought a cute tea kettle with the saying, “Always Tea Time,” written along the sides. It has a mesh screen insert for loose tea brewing. Supposedly, loose tea and bagged tea brewing reveal personality too! Loose leaf brewers tend to be: Introverted, yet, open-minded, persistent, finding joy and beauty in living. I recognize these traits to be true. I am definitely, introspective, soul-searching, and appreciate quality alone time, yet open to exploration. I do make a conscious effort to appreciate and look for the beauty and joy all around and inside myself, each day. I think buying that cute tea kettle sparked this post. Love that!
