I have tried many vegan cheeses in my vegan lifetime. Early on, there were few choices, and quite frankly, the taste, texture, and performance was like consuming and using plastic! But, I kept my faith that one day, there would be a vegan cheese that would taste good, look good, and perform well.
I finally found the best vegan cheese I ever tasted–Miyoko’s Cultured Vegan Cheddar Cheese! I never knew that cheese could be made from all the ingredients that’s in it, e.g. oats and beans! But, Miyoko’s Creamery makes it all come together deliciously.
It’s clever packaging too. I think that really sold me. I love the description: Farmhouse Cheddar, and the blue color package, with the clear center revealing the cheese, with the yellow-orange and blue strip with the Miyoko logo. It actually looks like a champion ribbon. I am a sucker for packaging. I am the one you will find standing in the grocery isles reading the packaging, turning it around and around, looking for something that gets the Veganista approval for a purchase.

Other things that get the Veganista approval is that it is cruelty free, lactose free, and allergen friendly. The last feature is very important for many people, especially vegans who suffer with allergies, and need non-allergic ingredients. It’s easy to digest. I love that it does not leave me with indigestion and other symptoms.
